ANDROLOGY AUSTRALIA AND AMBASSADOR MERV HUGHES
In his role as Ambassador for Andrology Australia, Merv Hughes travels Australia promoting men’s health. Merv encourages men to learn more about their health, to be aware when their health changes, and to seek help from their doctor. Merv speaks to community groups to let them know that male reproductive health problems are common and that help is available from their doctor. Merv promotes the free Andrology Australia resources that are available to men, the community and health professionals to raise awareness of men’s reproductive health and associated conditions.
ANDROLOGY AUSTRALIA
Andrology Australia, the Australian Centre of Excellence in Male Reproductive Health, is an Australian Government initiative committed to better educating the community and health professionals on male reproductive health and associated conditions; including the link of these conditions to more life-threatening conditions of diabetes and chronic disease.
To ensure best practice and evidence-based information and resources are available, men’s health experts from across Australia contribute to Andrology Australia’s program activity and information development. As well as providing quality information, the program also supports important research in men’s health that underpins the education activities.
Andrology Australia provides a range of information at no cost to encourage men and their families to speak to their doctor, and to help men understand their bodies and when problems arise.
Free resources, including RACGP accredited online learning modules, are also made available to health professionals to further their education in male reproductive health, and to assist them in the management and treatment of their male patients.
For community groups, a comprehensive ‘Men’s Health Education Kit’ resource provides everything needed to run a men’s health event.
All Andrology Australia resources are available at no cost and can be downloaded or ordered online at www.andrologyaustralia.org or phone: 1300 303 878
